Working as part of the Legal and Governance Division, the Commercial and Property team provides high quality legal advice to all divisions of Council across areas including procurement, information technology, events, grants and sponsorship, planning agreements, construction and development and property. The friendly team is high performing and derives great satisfaction from assisting to deliver the diverse and tangible outcomes established by Sustainable Sydney 2030.
The successful candidate will be admitted or eligible to be admitted into the Supreme Court of New South Wales. It is desirable for the successful candidate to have at least 3 years of post qualification experience working as a solicitor. Prior experience in commercial and/or technology law is highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- expertise in commercial and property law;
- the ability to work independently and to contribute to an effective team culture;
- an enthusiasm for and interest in local government matters and the City of Sydney;
- an ability to develop strong relationships with a variety of clients; and
- excellent written and verbal skills.
Expertise in technology law is desirable.
