We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Development Planner for a permanent role within our Development Planning team. This represents a great opportunity for exposure to a broad base range of metropolitan planning matters. 

The role of Development Planner sits within the Urban Planning and Building portfolio which aligns urban planning policy with urban planning delivery and incorporates Banyule’s Statutory and Strategic Planning Teams including subdivision and planning enforcement.  The portfolio also includes Building Services which includes Council’s Municipal Building Surveyor and enforcement functions as well a commercial Building Permit Service (Banyule BPi). 

In this role you will:  

• Assess and advise Council on statutory planning proposals for the development and use of land in Banyule. Assessment to be based on a sound understanding of Council and Government planning policies and established planning procedures and principles and to take into account community views and expectations.

• Facilitate the achievement of efficient development approval processing and provide guidance and assistance to the parties involved. 

• Use initiative and judgement in applying existing policies and procedures. 

  The position is based at our Rosanna Service Centre, close to public transport and shops. An attractive annual salary range of $74,578-$81,080 plus super with a 19 day month, business networking and development opportunities and a great range of Council benefits!
