Sport and Recreation Project Officer

Do you want to improve sport and recreation opportunities in your community?

This newly created position will assist in the delivery of some exciting sports and recreation projects over the next three years in particular with a focus on sporting clubs.

Help us achieve our vision to “To create a safe, healthy and inclusive community by encouraging people to actively participate in a diverse range of recreational opportunities to improve health and wellbeing”

You’ll be working within the Leisure and Cultural Services team at Greensborough. The team is dynamic, supportive and full of energy. To help us achieve our vision you will be:

  • Supporting the Leisure and Culture team to plan and deliver on our 10 year capital works plan.
  • Managing, supporting and communicating to key stakeholders throughout a project lifecycle.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in sport and recreation, project management, recreation planning or related.
  • Sound experience in project management and ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary inter-departmental project teams
  • Substantial experience in sport and recreation facility planning and capital project delivery
  • Experience working in partnership with community organisations and individuals in the areas of sport and recreation programs
  • Demonstrated report and grant writing skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including consultation and negotiation.
