Environmental Health Officer

  • Temporary full time
  • Replacement role - up to 12 months
  • $77,326 - $84,205 plus superannuation

Working within the Environmental Health team, you will administer the requirements of all relevant legislation and health standards including the Food Act, Public Health and Wellbeing Act, EPA regulations and Tobacco Act.

You will promote environmental and public health standards within the Shire and in particular undertake regulatory inspections of registered premises such as food premises including major events held at the Grand Prix track, prescribed accommodation, skin penetration/personal care body art premises.

You must have appropriate tertiary qualifications in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent and experience working in Local Government.

As a professional you will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, have strong computer and organisational skills, be highly motivated, reliable and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
