The Moreland City Council Communications team is looking for an experienced communications professional for a four-month contract in the role of Internal Communications Officer.

The role will be responsible for improving the quality and effectiveness of internal communications to the Mayor, Councillors and staff by producing engaging content in relation to Council news, issues, and financial and budget information.

The successful applicant will have a tertiary qualification in communications or journalism, strong analytical skills and be able to think strategically about key community and organisational issues. You will have proven relationship-building skills at all levels, be a first class writer and have creative ideas about how multimedia techniques can be used as effective internal communications tools.

Experience in government is an advantage, as is the skill of turning bureaucratise into plain English.
