ABOUT THE ROLE

The Building Services team are transforming as we embark on a journey to become a customer-centric, high performing team, focussed on delivering exceptional outcomes for our organisation. As a Cadet Building Surveyor, you will be working with a multi-disciplined team that aims to provide a high-quality building service to our customers and citizens who live and work in Moreland. As a member of a professional team, you are expected to be committed to provide a high level of customer service, while completing multiple tasks with competing deadlines. 

Reporting to the Team Leader Building Approvals and Senior Building Surveyor members, you will contribute in the delivery of building services to achieve a compliant and safe built environment in Moreland.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Code of Australia
  • Currently studying or recently completed studies as a building surveyor or building inspector
  • Broad understanding of the Building Approvals function
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the capacity to deal effectively with conflict
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
