About the role:

  • To provide strategic leadership and management direction to achieve efficient and effective regulation to guide the desirable long-term growth and development of the City of Busselton.
  • Responsible for the Business Unit Management of the Statutory Planning, Building Services and Strategic Planning business units.
  • Provide specialist technical advice to staff and Council and input into various projects and planning as required.

To be considered for this role you must address, the following essential selection criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification(s) relevant to role and/or management/business administration.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying urban and regional planning legislation.
  • Proven capacity to deal with complex planning and development issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and resolve complex matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, and apply that thinking in a professional context.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Capacity to manage change initiatives within a public sector environment.

Applicants must also hold a current C class driver’s licence, be able to meet any COVID-19 vaccination requirements mandated for this role, and be able to provide a National Police Clearance no more than six months old.
