HSE | HR Advisor - Broome

The KLC is a people focused, diverse workforce who value integrity, respect and leadership. We have an exciting oppertunity for a self-sufficient, collaborative, and effective HSE | HR Advisor. This is a 12 month assignment with a possibility of extension based on successful funding. 

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for providing stakeholders with a high level of HSE & HR support. Your tasks will include:

  • Establish strong working relationships and effective communication with leadership and employees across the organisation.
  • Ensure HSE processes & activates are compliant with relevant HSE legislation and company standards
  • Provide advice, support and training to develop skills and confidence in supervisors to effectively manage OSH and risk prevention.
  • Monitor and promote OSH risk management, early identification and reduction of workplace hazards by conducting risk assessments, safety audits, incident and hazard reviews, and analysis and reporting.
  • Assist management in the investigation of HSE incidents and provide guidance on the development of improvement opportunities
  • Providing advice and support on general HR enquiries
  • Administration of recruitment activities including advertising, employment contracts, on-boarding and off-boarding 
  • Involvement in HR projects such as workforce planning, wellbeing, employee engagement and attraction and retention.


  • Qualification in OSH, or experience in related role. 
  • Knowledge of OSH legislation and their application
  • The ability to develop and present education & training packages
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to excellence in customer service; ability to use discretion in the handling of sensitive and/or confidential information. 
  • Current valid Driver's Licence
  • Current satisfactory National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)
  • Qualifications or experience in Human Resources or related field. 
  • Qualification or experience in OSH or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract preparation, recruitment and on-boarding
  • Experience in applying Work Safe accreditation process.
  • Experience in developing, delivering and coordinating OSH programs in medium to large organisations.

Salary and Benefits:
An attractive salary package with significant subsidies including 5 weeks annual leave, relocation allowance, leave loading, district allowance, rental subsidy, air conditioning subsidy, an annual airfare (subject to qualifying period) and the option to salary sacrifice up to $15,889 per annum will be offered to the successful candidates.
