Service Manager  (Irrigation Systems) 

Burdekin  location – Full Time

 

SunWater is Queensland’s largest bulk water infrastructure developer, owner and manager providing services to government and commercial clients in the mining, energy, urban, and irrigation sectors.  SunWater has an existing network of water infrastructure assets of some $7billion, including 19 major dams, 63 weirs, and 2,500km of pipelines and channel systems.

The purpose of Irrigation Systems is to successfully deliver water to customers within agreed service targets; maintaining asset integrity and building local capacity.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Lead, manage and coach staff in the Burdekin Irrigation System to ensure the ongoing delivery of effective, efficient and safe water transportation services to irrigation customers.
  • Maintain the integrity of local irrigation distribution assets
  • Ensure operations are conducted in order to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations
  • Ensure day-to-day routine operations and preventative & corrective maintenance work are scheduled to achieve the most efficient use of resources whilst continuing to meet customer standards of service, compliance and other business requirements
  • Support SunWater’s flood management activities as and if required by the Bulk Water Service Delivery Team
  • Monitor report and manage the Irrigation System business’s operational and financial performance and the achievement of agreed customer service standards including the completion of asset maintenance and renewals program
  • Build the business capacity and autonomy of the local SunWater team in liaison with the Manager, Service Delivery (IS). Develop and manage positive relationships with customers and other stakeholders at a scheme level.
  • Deliver CapEx, OPEx and maintenance programs within agreed timeframes, budget, standards and service outcomes
  • Setting priorities for project implementation and supervising work teams for the completion of works programs in a cost effective, safe and timely manner
  • Ensuring that supply interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures are minimised and attending to any emergency call-outs that may arise within the scheme
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues if and as they

Essential:

  • Has a water industry or agri-business background and knowledge of the context and environment within which SunWater operates

Desirable

  • Possession of, or ability to demonstrate progress towards achieving, qualifications in business management, engineering or other field relevant to the key accountabilities of this position
