Council comprises an area of 10,440 km2, employs about 600 staff, operates 5 administration centers, 10 works depots and serves approximately 50,000 residents and ratepayers living in 44 towns, villages and city environs.

The purpose of the position is to:

  • To coordinate, supervise and undertake relevant maintenance and construction works to ensure the delivery of high quality services, effective and efficient methodology, quality standards, legislative requirements, procedures and documentation
  • Provide timely, accurate and succinct information on Council issues
  • Ensure that activities comply with all WHS policies and procedures


To be successful in the position you will need:

  • Certificate III in appropriate discipline; or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Current drivers licence
  • WHS Construction Induction Training Certificate (NSW) or equivalent recognised in NSW
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of road and drainage maintenance and construction activities and processes
  • Work supervisory skills and the ability to organise the duties of staff
  • Communication skills including the ability to liaise with the public and staff
  • Clerical, administration and organisational skills, including the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage project documentation required during the completion of works
  • A demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of Work Health & Safety requirements
  • Consultative manner and committed to a team-based approach, with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
