Ranger for Local Council

Maxima, on behalf of their valued client are seeking a Ranger to work approx. 18-25 hours per week. This role will be located in the Eastern Suburbs and will run for a minimum of 6 months. Although experience is preferred, full training will be provided for the right, outgoing candidate.

To be considered for this role you will:

  • Have a current driver's license
  • A current (or willing to obtain) police clearance - no more than 6 months old
  • Experience in and knowledge of all relevant legislation including Local Government Act, Dog & Cat Management Act, Australian Road Rules, Road Traffic Act, Council By-Laws and other relevant prescribed legislation will be highly regarded
  • Have flexibility to work additional hours and cover or swap shifts where required
  • Be available to work weekends
  • Have confidence in dealing with animals (mostly dogs)
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to deal with conflict situations and successfully negotiate solutions

  • A rotating fortnightly roster including 1 weekend shift each week
  • After hours work with some on- call work if required

  • Litter and nuisance issues
  • Associated administrative tasks
