City of Stonnington launches transport priorities



City of Stonnington Mayor Cr Adrian Stubbs has announced The City of Stonnington's priority transport projects as part of the Inner South Metropolitan Mayors' Forum (ISMMF) election platform. ISMMF represents seven councils within Melbourne's inner south, incorporating Stonnington, Bayside, Boroondara, Glen Eira, Kingston, Port Phillip and Yarra.

"Stonnington supports projects that reduce congestion, increase connectivity and relieve strain on our city's services as Melbourne's population rapidly grows," says Cr Stubbs.


Community backs new City Farm in the heart of Sydney

 

The City of Sydney’s plans to develop a working farm in the heart of the city have been backed by gardening and agricultural experts and community groups.

The City Farm, located in Sydney Park, will provide farmers’ markets with fresh, locally-produced food, feature an urban fruit-filled orchard, and run a program of sustainable workshops.

Television gardening expert Costa Georgiadis congratulated the City on a fantastic initiative that will transform peoples’ understanding of local food production.


Environment works on Bellarine coastline

 

The City of Greater Geelong’s Environment Department has been recognised for their conservation works along the Bellarine coast line at the Victorian Coastal Awards.

Major works carried out along the Northern Coast line of the Bellarine from Portarlington to Curlewis include sand fencing, renourishment, rock gryones, seawalls, rock revetments, rock stability buttresses and groundwater pumps.


Gympie Town Centre Marketing Strategy

 

Gympie Regional Council has endorsed a branding and marketing Strategy for the Gympie town centre, following an extensive community engagement process. The strategy includes a 3 year action plan of implementation activities to support the town centre as a vibrant place to spend time, shop and do business. The strategy is aimed at refreshing the town centre's identity and delivering a unique product and patron experience, centered on the picturesque and historically significant Mary Street.

Governance and Economic Development Portfolio Cr. Tony Perrett says, ‘Council and local businesses have an important role to play in supporting the town centre as a key driver in the region's economic prosperity and reinforcing it as our primary retail, entertainment, services and social/ community hub.'
