Young Territory Author Awards 2014
Lord Mayor Katrina Fong Lim this week announced the winners of the Young Territory Author Awards at Charles Darwin University.
The Young Territory Author Awards are an annual writing competition where young people are invited to write and produce their own book.

It’s time for local artists to put themselves on the map… literally!
Artists from across the south west will now have an online platform to connect, create and communicate through a new website called South West Arts Atlas.
This free resource is based on the Central Highlands Arts Atlas developed by Ballarat City Council as part of a regional networking project.
Cycle Hub amenities now open
The progress of the Barossa Cycle Hub at Tanunda continues to move forward, with the first stage, the new toilet amenities, now open to the public.
Featuring male and female toilets, change rooms and coin operated showers; the multi-purpose facility will become a one stop shop for visitors and locals.
New Path To Link School And CBD
Bass Coast Shire Council has appointed a contractor to build a 2.5 metre wide concrete footpath running from the Bass Coast Specialist School to Watt Street, with works currently in progress.
“The pathway will provide access for students from the Specialist School to the Wonthaggi CBD and Webb’s Shed,” Council’s Infrastructure Director, Felicity Sist, said.
“Existing footpaths will also be widened to 2.5 metres.”
