Royal Park honoured with the Green Flag

 

The City Of Melbourne’s welcomes the announcement that our biggest park is among the world’s best, with Royal Park receiving a prestigious Green Flag Award in recognition of its high quality green open spaces, heritage and community value.

The Green Flag Award scheme is awarded by the peak body for parks management, Parks Forum which assesses parks on their look and feel, safety, sustainability, conservation and heritage along with community involvement.


Seniors can get out early with free travel


Seniors can now travel for longer for free on Gold Coast Surfside buses.  

Mayor Tom Tate said the free travel service for seniors was being extended by 30 minutes a day starting this week and would provide more flexibility for the 12,500 people who have registered for the free travel. 

Smoke Clearing from Perth City Malls


One month since the Perth City Malls and Forrest Place became Smoke Free, City of Perth enforcement officers are reporting a largely positive response to the ban from the general public, including the majority of smokers.

City of Perth rangers and Smoke Free ambassadors funded by Healthway have been patrolling the high traffic pedestrian areas since 1 December, informing City residents and visitors of the new Smoke Free zones.


Ballarat Regional Capital Plan projects to deliver $3.4 billion in economic impact


Projects outlined in the Ballarat Regional Capital Plan will deliver $3.4 billion in economic impact for Ballarat.

The Ballarat launch of the Regional Capital Plan was held this evening at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, after it was introduced by the Premier of Victoria Denis Napthine in Melbourne last week.

City of Ballarat Mayor Joshua Morris said the Ballarat Regional Capital Plan provides a strategic investment framework for accelerating the growth of Ballarat and the western region of Victoria.
