Artistic variety in sponsorship program


The Council has approved sponsorship of $53,147 for seven arts and cultural projects in the city. The sponsorship will support events as diverse as folk and roots music, photography and Kung Fu.

Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said the city and its visitors benefited from a thriving arts and cultural scene and the Council would do whatever it could to encourage it.


Emergency events do not stop at municipal borders


The City of Greater Bendigo, Campaspe Shire, Loddon Shire and Mount Alexander Shire have signed an agreement to work together to effectively plan for emergency events across the municipalities.

The Shared Local Government Emergency Management Services Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on November 25, 2013 and outlines how each Council will develop and implement sustainable, standard emergency management processes.


Good Access Means Good Business awards


Three local businesses that foster a more inclusive community have been presented with Eurobodalla Shire Council's first Good Access Means Good Business Awards.

The awards were sponsored by council's Disability Advisory Committee and presented on International Day of People with Disability and aim to encourage local businesses to welcome, value and respect the involvement and participation of people with a disability.

 


Kwinana KidSport receives increased funding


Kwinana youth will have the opportunity to continue to participate in community sport thanks to the Department of Sport and Recreation’s Sport 4 All project granting City of Kwinana a further $70,000.
