Waterfall work completed at new park


Work on the waterfall and stream feature at the Tamworth Regional Playground has been completed and soon construction is expected start on the new café/restaurant.

A 40 metre long natural-looking stream has been created by Waterscapes Australia and Tamworth Regional Council staff, starting with a series of five waterfalls and three pooling areas set into the existing embankment at Bicentennial Park.


Brown Hill Keswick Creek Stormwater Project


Community consultation: Part B Report. Members of the public are invited to learn more about and comment on proposed flood mitigation measures for upper Brown Hill Creek during a community consultation process from Wednesday 13 May to Tuesday 23 June, 2015.
 

The consultation will focus on the Brown Hill Keswick Creek Stormwater Project’s “Part B Report” for upper Brown Hill Creek, which investigated eight flood mitigation options aimed at improving flood protection for homes and properties across the catchment.


Council helps childcare centres get eco-friendly


Kids in childcare centres across Hornsby Shire are learning how to take care of the environment with Council’s sustainability program.

Hornsby Shire Council runs an Early Childhood Sustainability Program, which involves staff from the Waste team working alongside childcare centres to improve sustainability practices.

Kensington to receive a state-of-the-art community centre


Last night (9 June 2015), Randwick City Council's Planning Committee approved plans to upgrade the former Kensington Bowling Club into a new, state of the art community centre.

The upgraded space will include two community rooms for hire, onsite parking, a half basketball court, as well as additional landscaping and footpath works and an outdoor gym in the neighbouring Kensington Park.
