New awards put city businesses on show
A new City of Sydney-sponsored awards program will mean leading city businesses and emerging entrepreneurs will have the chance to raise their profile, expand their network and showcase their talents on a state-wide stage.
The City has joined forces with the NSW Business Chamber to create a new Sydney Cityregion in the chamber’s prestigious annual Business Awards, which recognise outstanding business achievement across the state.
The winners of the regional awards, to be held at Sydney Town Hall in July, will go on to the state finals in November. The City is also sponsoring the state-wide award for Excellence in Small Business.
Perth Environmental Policy builds City’s sustainability
The City of Perth council has adopted a new Environment Policy to better manage the impact of its operations on the environment, and build on its achievements so far.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said the policy was the first component of a new strategic environmental framework that would address the future needs of the community and the environment.
Bold new vision to transform Fremantle in lead up to 2029 bicentenary
As the port city moves towards its bicentennial in 2029, a strong vision matched by clearly defined transformational moves is required to unlock the potential of Fremantle as a vibrant and sustainable urban centre, according to Fremantle Mayor, Dr Brad Pettitt.
Details of this vision were announced at the launch of the Freo 2029 Transformational Moves document, which captures five key ‘transformational moves’ set to shape the city’s future direction and affirm Fremantle’s status as WA’s undisputed second city.

Adelaide City Council is asking the community to get involved in shaping the future of the city as it launches the final stage of Picture Adelaide 2040 on Wednesday 11 March.
Picture Adelaide 2040 is a significant engagement project that will inform the development of four Council plans: the Adelaide 2040 Plan, the Park Lands Strategy, District Planning, and the City of Adelaide Planning Strategy. These Plans will outline a future for the city and describe the roles for Council and its partners.
