Bunbury lights up at night


Some of Bunbury’s most iconic sites will now be transformed when the sun goes down.  The Graham Bricknell Music Shell, Marlston Lookout Tower and Guppy Park have been fitted with a variety of LED lights, which will be turned on after sunset. 

It is all part of the Lighting up Bunbury project, which began about two years ago. The idea was sparked when a study identified that parts of the central business district would benefit from additional or creative lighting.


Council welcomes CBD funding

 

Gosford City Council and the Central Coast Regional Development Corporation (CCRDC) have celebrated yesterday’s funding announcement for the Kibbleplex project by Member for Robertson, Ms Deborah O’Neill. 

Ms O’Neill announced that the Government would provide $7 million to the project, matching council’s contribution dollar for dollar.

Gosford City Council General Manager, Mr Paul Anderson has welcomed funding for the project saying that it is secured and will move ahead regardless of the result of the September 7 election - a real coup for Gosford City.


Draft Swimming Pools Inspection Policy out for public comment


AlburyCity is inviting public comment on a new policy that will boost pool fence compliance and help save children’s lives.

Council’s draft Swimming Pools Inspection Policy is now available for public comment. It has been developed in response to new State Government legislation that requires all NSW councils to adopt a mandatory pool inspection program.


Working Party gains funding for workplace wellness


A new grant from Cancer Council NSW will assist Dubbo City Council and add to existing initiatives that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of its 300 plus staff.

Dubbo City Council's Wellness Working Party was recently successful in applying for $3000 funding from Cancer Council NSW under its Healthy Workplace Partnership project, which helps councils undertake activities to promote healthier lifestyles among staff.
